Professor Ogay Vyacheslav, candidate of biological sciences, graduate of Kyzylorda State University. Korkyt-Ata. In 2000, he graduated from Pushchino State University with a master’s degree in cell biology (Pushchino, Moscow region, Russia). In 2003, he completed his postgraduate studies and successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis in the specialty «Biophysics» at the Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
He began his career in 1998 as a research engineer, then as a junior researcher at the Institute of Cell Biophysics RAS, Pushchino Scientific Center for Biological Research RAS. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a research fellow at the College of Natural Sciences, Seoul National University (Seoul, South Korea). From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a senior research fellow at the Research Institute of Basic Sciences at Seoul National University. From 2009 to 2011 he was a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Immunobiotechnology and Immunochemistry of the National Center for Biotechnology. From 2011 to 2022, he headed the stem cell laboratory of the National Center for Biotechnology.
Over the years, he was the supervisor of 10 scientific projects and 1 scientific and technical program, participated as a scientific expert in the foresight project «System Analysis and Forecasting in Science and Technology until 2030» in the priority direction «Health of the Nation». From 2018 to 2019, he was a member of the National Scientific Council in the priority area «Science of Life and Health».
Ogay V. is the author of more than 80 scientific papers, including 49 articles in publications included in the international scientometric databases Web of Science and Scopus. In addition, he is the author of 10 patents for inventions, including 2 foreign patents for inventions. The Hirsch index according to the information base Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science) is 15.
Ogay V. 2004-2006 was a scholarship holder of the program for young scientists «Brain Korea 21», funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Korea. Ogay V. was awarded a certificate of honor for active scientific work from the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2009), a badge «For contribution to the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan» (2016) and a badge «For merits in the development of healthcare» (2022).
