During the visit, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kunsulu Zakarya informed the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Zhang Min, and accompanying officials of the Secretariat of the Organization on the main directions in science and technology.

In turn, the general director of «QazBioPharm» JSC Ergali Abduramimov talked about the activities of «QazBioPharm» and the National Center for Biotechnology.

The guests visited laboratories of applied genetics, and stem cells of the National Center for Biotechnology.

During the meeting, the opening of the Genome Center with the participation of the Chinese side was discussed.

At the end of the visit, the parties expressed their readiness to implement joint programs and projects, exchange speakers as guest lecturers, and involvement of experts in biotechnology issues.
