Zhumabekova Maral Bapanovna, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, graduated with honors from the Chemical Faculty of Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov. In 1993, she graduated from full-time postgraduate studies and successfully defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences in the specialty “Electrochemistry”. The candidate’s diploma was issued by the State Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, certified by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

She began her career as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the Karaganda State University named after E. Buketov. She worked as an engineer, then as a teacher of physical chemistry, electrochemistry, quantum chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Karaganda State University. From 2008 to 2020, she worked as the head of the department of strategic development, patent work, director of the science department of the National Center for Biotechnology.

In 2020-2024, she headed the Department of Strategic Development of the S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University.

The university’s high positions in the global ratings such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, Green Metric, etc. were ensured under her leadership.

She has significant experience in the field of scientific activity management, coordination of projects and programs, in the field of strategic planning of the organization’s activities, development of concepts and development programs, preparation and implementation of investment projects. She has experience working with international UNDP projects in the field of biosafety risk assessment.

Has additional higher legal education.

Author of scientific papers on the results of scientific research in a scientific specialty, methodological recommendations on the results of the implementation of scientific and technical programs, a collective monograph on food safety.

Awarded with honorary certificates from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
